Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and Quizzabit when you use the app or the website. By creating an account or playing as a guest, you accept them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

Quizzabit is run by Alex Kotrotsios, an individual based in Greece.

Who can play

You need to be at least 16 years old to use Quizzabit.

Your account

• Keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens on your account.
• Your username is public. It mustn’t pretend to be someone else, or be offensive. We can change or take back a username that breaks these rules.
• Guests can join games, but can’t host them, make AI quizzes or add friends. Leaving guest mode deletes the guest account.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account).

Playing fair and being kind

In lobbies, chat, usernames, lobby names, typed answers and AI quiz requests, don’t:

• harass, threaten or bully anyone, or post hateful, sexual or violent content;
• share other people’s personal details;
• spam, advertise, or pretend to be someone else;
• cheat, use bots or automated tools, or try to get around the game’s limits;
• try to break, overload or get unauthorised access to Quizzabit.

Our filter hides offensive words, but it can’t catch everything. You can report or block any player. We look at reports and can remove content, mute players, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules, depending on how serious it is.

What you write

Chat messages, usernames, lobby names, typed answers and AI quiz requests are yours. You give us permission to use them as needed to run the game: to show them to the players you play with, and to send AI quiz requests to Anthropic to make your quiz. Only paste text you have the right to use, and don’t paste other people’s personal details.

Questions and AI quizzes

• The default questions come from Open Trivia DB, under the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence. Credits are in the app (Settings → About and credits).
• AI quizzes are written by Anthropic’s Claude model. AI can be wrong, so its questions and answers may contain mistakes. Don’t rely on them as facts.
• Making AI quizzes has a daily limit, and we can pause them, for example when they cost too much that day.

The service

Quizzabit is free, and we offer it as it is. We work to keep it running and fair, but we can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or keep every feature. We may change or stop parts of it, and we’ll tell you in the app about big changes. Before adding anything you pay for, we’ll update these terms.

Responsibility

Nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have as a consumer under the law. Within those limits, we’re not responsible for indirect losses, or for losses caused by other players or by services we don’t control.

Ending

You can stop using Quizzabit and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and we’ll tell you why unless the law, or other players’ safety, stops us.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before the change applies. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account.

Law

These terms are governed by Greek law. If you live in the EU, you also keep the protection of your own country’s consumer law, and you can bring a claim in its courts. If you have a problem, email us first at [email protected]: we’d rather sort it out with you.
